The Watch For Shopping Lovers

Finally a watchmaker that gets how a woman thinks.

Hamilton watches has created a new Khaki Navy GMT which displays some of the world's major shopping streets to indicate different time zones.

On previous models of the Khaki Navy GMT, a slim, curved window on the outer edge of the dial displays the name of a city to match the current time zone.

However, in the new "street smart" model, the window displays one of eight major shopping streets including New York's 5th Avenue, Causeway Bay in Hong Kong, Ginza in Tokyo, New Bond Street in London and Avenue Montaigne in Paris.

The 42 mm Khaki Navy GMT comes in two colourways - a sunny all-white with rose gold accents, and a sober black with black face and PVD strap.

Like the vast majority of Hamilton watches, the Khaki Navy GMTs have automatic movements, a signature of the American-born brand which has been around since 1892. The company was founded in Lancaster, Pennsylvania with a series of pocket watches heralded for keeping trains on time and reducing railroad accidents. During WWII, Hamilton stopped producing watches for the public in order to supply timepieces for the U.S. military.

Hamilton is now owned by The Swatch Group, where it is viewed as offering great value-for-money, since most of the automatic watches ring in at under $2,000. The shopping street model retails for between $1,045 and $1,345.

Which leaves more cash for spending on the world's best shopping streets, naturally.
